RnR Coming To The Patterson 12/1/07!

Oh, hai.

.
I know, I know: you thought Rock-n-Romp::Baltimore was dead, right? Well LONG LIVE RnR::BALTIMORE!

.
Here’s what happened: I got busy. Insanely busy. I started working again (well, quote-unquote “working” I guess, since what I’m doing for a living right now is blogging, but whatevs). I suddenly felt sort of buried beneath my own life.

.
Something had to give. And sadly, that something was Rock-n-Romp.

.
But lo, the clouds did part and the angels did sing, and The Creative Alliance contacted me this summer to see if I’d be interested in teaming up with them to do shows at The Patterson. It was a Festivus miracle, people.

.
So here we go again! Yippee!

.

Partnering with Creative Alliance means A LOT less work for me (oh thank you jebus), and it also means things like fancy Indoor Climate Control and Professional Sound and Lighting. Oh and did I mention: CASH BAR? Go on, tell me you love me.

.

.

The first show will be on Saturday December 1st at 3pm (at the Patterson). See the blurb-like item below for all the deets. Another benefit of this new arrangement is that while it may lack the homey intimacy of a backyard setting, 1) the indoorsness of it all means we can have shows ALL YEAR ROUND (gasp!), 2) relatedly, we aren’t at the mercy of the elements and risking possible electrocution(s), and 3) I’ll say it again: CASH BAR.

.
So please, please tell everyone with kids that you know about this! Shout it from the rooftops! A successful first go at this in December means more delicious Rock-n-Romp goodness will be heading your way sooner rather than, err, NEVER.

.
Here’s the hot blurb ackshon from The Creative Alliance website:

Rock n’ Romp Holiday Costume Party
w/ Secret Crush Society & Even So
Sat Dec 1, 3pm
$10, $8 mbrs. Kids under 12 free!

presented by Sweetney Productions

A word-of-mouth backyard sensation, Rock ‘n’ Romp moves indoors. Parents—have a beer and watch the kids bounce around to rock music! Secret Crush Society has been charming Baltimore with its catchy, garage punk songs since 2002. The quirky indie rock band Even So has hard-driving drumlines and the imaginative lyrics of City Paper’s “Best Playwright Of Baltimore 2006.” Fun Holiday costumes suggested for kids!

.

Hope to see you all then!
